Who are we? What are our policies and guarantees? We were one of the first web
only ancient coin dealers on the Internet and have been in business since 1996
offering value priced ancient coins and antiquities.
Originally, there were 2 principals, John Darling on the west coast and Kevin Barry
on the east. Several years ago John left the business for time and family
reasons, leaving Kevin to run the show alone. Since, by that time, the business
was already established as 'Barry & Darling' it was decided to continue under that
name rather than starting again under a new name.
Kevin purchased his first ancient coin in 1978 (an Alexadrian bronze of Probus
which he still has) and has been quietly involved in the hobby ever since. His
current interests include ancient counterfeits, Paduan imitations and the coins
of the usurpers. In 1999 he founded the Moneta-L email list which has become
the most successful discussion group on ancient coins on the Internet. He is
also the co-author of a monthly column on ancient coins and the Internet that
appears in The Celator magazine.

| Guarantee |
All of our coins are guaranteed authentic and as described. We offer a minimum 14 day return policy on all of our attributed coins. Unattributed, uncleaned and Bargain Bin coins are still guaranteed to be authentic but are not covered under the 14 day return policy.

| Ordering |
Ordering is easy. Simply email us with your order and we will check the availability and send you a price quote with shipping. Once you accept the quote we will reserve your coin(s) until your payment arrives.

| Payment |
In general, the payment options are money orders or checks for US customers and
international money orders, wire transfers or 'speed' checks and transfers for
customers overseas. Please note that there are additional fees involved for overseas payments that are not payable in US funds.
US customers (and many customers overseas) also have the option of paying
by credit card through the Paypal online payment service.

| Layaway |
See a coin that you want but don't have the entire amount? Ask us about putting
together a layaway for you. We will work with you
to see what you can afford for monthly payments. It may not be available
for all coins (for example coins on consignment with us may be difficult) but
if we can, we will.

| Existing Customers |
If you see something that you would really like, but just don't have the money right now. Email us and we will be happy to put the coin on reserve for you. Coins can usually be held for 2 - 4 weeks,
depending on the cash flow situation.

| Shipping |
Our normal shipping method for shipments within the continental US is via US Post
Office 1st class mail or Priority Mail. Shipping methods overseas will vary since
the Post Office does not offer all services to all countries. Overseas taxes, import fees and duties are the responsibility of the buyer. Please be sure to include your preferred shipping address with your order.
